GOD’S LOVE DRAWS US TO WORSHIP.
I make bold to say, you can’t truly meditate on God’s love and not be moved to worship. A song will certainly well up in your soul when you think about his love.
The late Billy Graham often used to say, “The Bible is God’s love letter to us”. He is so right. Reading God’s word reveals God’s love for us and this affection draws us into worship.
Augustine (in the 4th century) famously said, “Thou has made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.”
When we contemplate God’s love for us, our hearts bow in worship. We enter God’s presence to praise Him for His priceless gifts.
King David wrote in Psalm 5:7, “But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.”
Everyone who got a revelation of God’s love ends us writing, singing and directing songs for God’s worship.
Moses: Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. Exodus 15:1
Solomon: The song of songs, which is Solomon’s. Songs 1:1
Israel: And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 2 Chronicles 20:22
At the end of the age, we all as saints as a reference to the awe of God’s love for us will have the privilege of singing the songs of Moses and the songs of Jesus. Glory!
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Revelations 15:3 (KJV)
Think about His extravagant love and let your heart move you into genuine worship in truth and in Spirit.
Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Psalm 66:2
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. Hebrews 2:12
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. Psalm 66:4
God’s love draws us to worship.
Hallelujah!
